Egyptian female athletes win five medals at African Wushu Championships

The Egyptian women’s Wushu Kung Fu team achieved remarkable success on the second day of the 9th African Wushu Championship, hosted at the International Hall of the Arab Contractors Club in Cairo, securing a total of five medals.

Their haul included an impressive four gold medals and one silver. The gold medals were earned by Yasmine Selim (52 kg), Shahd Hamdy (56 kg), Nijad El-Arabi (65 kg), and Aya Salah El-Din (75 kg). Meanwhile, Menna Allah Mohamed Hassan claimed silver in the 70 kg category.

The competition takes place from 3 to 5 May, with athletes from nine countries taking part.

According to Sada El-Balad, a partner of TV BRICS, approximately 200 participants are competing across various categories, while the Egyptian squad consists of 35 athletes: 11 competing in Sanda and 24 in both modern and traditional styles.
