Simba FC head coach Fadlu Davids has not thrown in the towel in the CAF Confederation Cup final.
The Tanzanians have a mountain to climb after a 2-0 loss to Moroccan club RS Berkane a week ago.
The return leg is today, 25 May, at the Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar. Kickoff has been set for 15H00, and the match will be live on SABC 1.
The South African coach has insisted that it is not over for his side.
“The first leg was a tough lesson, but it’s a great opportunity for our young players to mature,” said Davids during the pre-match press conference.
“We’ve learned a lot, and we are ready to respond in the second leg.
“Yes, we entered the match confused in the first 20 minutes (in the first leg), and that’s normal for a young team playing in its first final. But we came back well and created chances.”
Davids added, “We will fight and play to the best of our ability, and RS Berkane will feel Simba’s strength.”
Meanwhile, Berkane mentor Moine Chaabani said his side is ready to complete the job.
“We are focused on the match, and we must adapt to all circumstances, no matter how difficult.
“We came here to play a 90-minute match, and there is no room for distraction.”
