Austrian side SV Ried have announced they have accepted a fee exceeding one million Euros (R18.8 Million) to sell winger Antonio Van Wyk to Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Tshwane side confirmed the deal a couple of days ago, and SV Ried has now disclosed the transfer fee.
“Antonio Van Wyk’s transfer to African Champions League winners Mamelodi Sundowns is complete! With a fee exceeding one million euros, it’s the record transfer in the history of SV Oberbank Ried,” says the European club.
The 24-year-old South African returns to his homeland after almost two years in Ried. He made 53 competitive appearances for SV Oberbank Ried, 30 of them in the top division. In these 53 matches, the attacking player scored four goals and provided seven assists.
“The signing of Antonio van Wyk is by far the record transfer in the history of SV Oberbank Ried. This demonstrates our development as a club, both on and off the pitch. I would like to thank Toni for his contributions. It was a pleasure for every coach, teammate, and certainly also for the fans, to watch him play,” said Wolfgang Fiala, Sporting Director at SV Oberbank Ried.
Van Wyk is Sundowns’ first signing ahead of the 2026/27 season.
He previously featured for Stellenbosch FC.
