Tanzanian club Simba has one leg in the CAF Confederation Cup final following their 1-0 win over Stellenbosch FC in Zanzibar on Sunday.

The two sides will meet again in the return leg at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Sunday, 27 April.

Stellenbosch would certainly fancy their chances of a comeback considering it’s a slender lead for Simba and this is where Fadluraghman “Fadlu” Davids, who guides the East Africans, comes in.

“Our objective in terms of keeping a clean sheet (in the first leg) is done, but we are a big club. Simba is a big club and we cannot be happy with a 1-0 score line at home especially when we had moments to make it 2-0, 3-0 and even 4-0,” Davids reacted.

“The players got to realize the stage we are in. We are in the semifinals. Clearly, we got to improve this performance. Believe me, my players will be ready for the return leg.”

The winners of the Confederation Cup pocket US$2,000,000 (R37.6 million) with the runners-up taking home US$1,000,000 (R18.8 million)

The semi-finalists will have to settle for US$750,000 (R14 million) each.
