The former leader of the Umkhonto Wesizwe (MK) Party in the Mpumalanga provincial legislature has vowed that she would sue the former Treasurer of the same party for allegedly spreading false information about her.
Mary Phadi said she would sue Menzi Magubane for allegedly spreading lies that she misused party funds, which led to some members turning against her.
This is contained in a voice note Phadi sent to one of the party’s Whatsapp groups over the weekend and it was later leaked to the public. She vowed that no matter how long it may take, she would eventually haul Magubane to court.
“Menzi Magubane, never, I am saying so as Mary Phadi, Menzi Magubane, we are here because you lied and said I misused Umkhonto Wesizwe’s money and gave statements to a comrade who splashed them all over the place. You pitted me against the people as after that many people are harbouring that and they don’t want me because of your propaganda Menzi.
“We will meet, I and you will meet in court, I will summon you to court to explain the issue of the money you claimed I abused. I am going to summon you Menzi Magubane, I want you in court. Just wait and see. I don’t know you, you don’t know me, we don’t know each other, yet you behave as if you know me from a corner where we once proposed love. You are being nasty towards me, the two of us will one day be in court, I want you in court and front of me, I want you,” Phadi vowed in the voice note.
When the African Times asked her about the voice note, she said she does not want to answer the questions about the matter. Magubane did not respond after being given two days to do so.
