Last season, Ousmane Dembélé of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) was heavily criticized for failing to live up to expectations in the French Ligue 1.
Dembélé scored just three goals in 26 appearances in the 2023/24 campaign, as PSG won the title.
This season, the former Barcelona winger was the man to watch with 29-goal contributions (21 goals and eight assists) in 28 games to guide PSG to another league success.
Subsequently, Dembélé has been named Ligue 1’s Player of the Season.
Dembélé takes over from Kylian Mbappe, who won the award five times in a row before joining Real Madrid last year.
PSG would be looking to cap off a fine season when they meet Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League final on 31 May.
