Selaelo Rasebotja’s situation at Orlando Pirates has gone from bad to worse.
The 24-year-old has been battling to find his feet in his first season with the Buccaneers since his transfer from SuperSport United.
Rasebotja has made a mere 11 appearances, and to make matters worse, only one appearance was as a starter, with the rest coming as a substitute.
While he was looking forward to a better next season in the black and white colours of Pirates, Rasebotja has suffered a bad injury that would keep him out for a minimum of six months to possibly a year.
“Definitely not how I would’ve loved to finish the season. But God’s will always prevail, and surely this too shall pass,” he wrote on his Instagram account.
“Devastated to have torn my ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) but I am immensely grateful for a very successful surgery. Now it’s time to rest, recuperate, and prepare myself for rehabilitation.”
Rasebotja apparently sustained the injury at training.
