The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) says it is ready to oppose bail for attorney Precious Muleya, who allegedly evaded arrest before being intercepted at OR Tambo International Airport in connection with a R5.2 million Road Accident Fund (RAF) fraud case.

SAPS Confirms Shadrack Sibiya Disciplinary Hearing Proceeding Despite Labour Court Bid
The South African Police Service has confirmed that the disciplinary proceedings against suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner Lieutenant-General Shadrack Sibiya are proceeding, despite his legal team’s separate application before the Labour Court.
SAPS told journalists that Sibiya’s disciplinary hearing was heard on Monday, with his request for a postponement granted to allow him additional time to consult his legal representatives.
The matter has now been postponed to 12 October 2026.

Former Sekhukhune FC footballer Sean Mogaila has pleaded guilty to culpable homicide and failing to render assistance after the fatal crash that claimed the life of nine-year-old Gomolemo Mavimbela in Tembisa two years ago.
Mogaila, 29, appeared before the Tembisa Magistrates’ Court on Monday and entered a guilty plea in terms of Section 112(2) of the Criminal Procedure Act.

One of the accused in a major Limpopo criminal case involving allegations of murder, insurance fraud and money laundering has died.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) confirmed that William Shokane, one of the 10 accused in the matter, lost his life while the case was before the Polokwane High Court on Monday.
Shokane was among the accused facing 111 charges, including murder, fraud, money laundering, receiving proceeds of unlawful activities and defeating the ends of justice.
