South African police have launched a 72-hour manhunt for suspects who allegedly stormed a house in KwaMakhutha, south of Durban, and opened fire on people gathered inside, killing 11 and leaving three others injured.
The attack happened on Tuesday night in the Ziko area, sending shockwaves through the community and prompting the South African Police Service (SAPS) to mobilise additional resources in an urgent bid to track down those responsible.

Mpox Cases Rise to 22 in South Africa as Imported Infections Confirmed
South Africa’s confirmed mpox cases have risen to 22, with the Department of Health warning that continued surveillance and early detection remain critical as infections are recorded across three provinces.
The department said on Wednesday that four additional laboratory-confirmed cases had been recorded as of 22 September, increasing the national total from 18.
One of the newly confirmed cases involves a 47-year-old man from Cape Town who travelled to Spain earlier this month.

Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala’s wife, Tsakane Matlala, has been arrested in Pretoria in connection with an investigation into an allegedly fraudulent lease agreement for a luxury mansion in Waterkloof Ridge.
Matlala was arrested on Tuesday and is being held at the Sunnyside police station, according to sources with knowledge of the investigation.
Her arrest is linked to a controversial residential lease agreement reportedly worth R95,000 a month and involving a multi-million-rand property in the upmarket Pretoria suburb.
