The Security and Protection Services Association of South Africa (SPPSA) has offered a R200 000 reward for information leading to the arrest and successful prosecution of those responsible for a deadly cash-in-transit (CIT) robbery in Mamelodi East, Pretoria.

The organisation strongly condemned the attack, describing it as a violent and reckless incident that resulted in the deaths of two security officers.

Another security officer was seriously injured and remains in hospital, according to SPPSA.

Police have arrested a 45-year-old man and seized about two kilograms of cocaine worth more than R800 000 at OR Tambo International Airport, marking the second alleged drug mule arrested at the airport in four days.

The suspect was intercepted on Monday, 7 September, following intelligence-led information received by the South African Police Service (SAPS).
