The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has launched a brand new trophy for the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup ahead of Sunday’s final at the Amaan Stadium, Zanzibar.
Tanzanian club Simba will host Morocco’s RS Berkane, who are leading 2-0 from the first leg played a week ago.
The new trophy is essentially a rebrand of the old one.
“The trophy has been re-imagined into a stunning new design that is befitting of the rich history of the prestigious tournament,” stated CAF.
“As part of CAF’s broader strategy to rebrand and elevate its competitions, the new design was conceived to amplify the visual impact of African football’s pride.
“The new trophy symbolizes aspiration, unity, and excellence in the continental game. At the top, a matte gold ball featuring a polished gold map of Africa represents continental pride. Two matte gold arms cradle the ball, highlighting unity and strength.
“The shiny silver body, accented by a dynamic gold lightning streak, crafted specifically for glory, reflects the energy and competitiveness of the tournament. Its marble base with hammered texture stands for tradition and prestige, engraved with the competition’s name and historical winners.
“Standing 45 cm tall, weighing 8-10 kg, this trophy is crafted for glory, embodying the relentless ambition and enduring spirit of African football.”
