Sundowns Dominate as Mosimane Names First Bafana Bafana Squad

Pitso Mosimane has unveiled his first Bafana Bafana squad since returning as head coach, with Mamelodi Sundowns providing the largest contingent for South Africa’s upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Mosimane named a 30-man squad at Safa House in Nasrec, Johannesburg on Thursday for matches against Guinea on September 26 and Eritrea on September 30, with an international friendly against Egypt scheduled for October 4.

The University of South Africa (Unisa) is turning to alumni, corporate partners and other donors for financial support as more than 6,000 undergraduate students face being unable to graduate because of outstanding fees.

Capitec Bank, one of South Africa’s most widely used retail banks, has been hit with R28 million in administrative fines after the Prudential Authority identified shortcomings in the bank’s compliance with the country’s financial intelligence laws.
